Updating Funio’s Hybrid Hosting Platform: ASP .Net (4.5)!

Did you know that Funio offered hybrid hosting plans? Indeed, our “Developer’s Heaven” and “Optimal” hosting plans, as well as our reseller hosting plan “Multi-Resources”, allow you to use Windows services on a Linux platform. You can program your site in ASP .Net, connect to a MS SQL database in addition to their exclusive access to use JavaServer Pages.

Following end of October’s Microsoft SQL Server update, it is now time for ASP .Net to know a great transformation. Our new Windows 2012 servers are up and ready to manage our Windows services. Our customers can now take full advantage of the most recent ASP .Net version!

ASP .Net Update

During the week of November 18th, we have updates our Windows services in order to provide you with the recent .Net version (4.5). In order to allow our customers to take full advantage of this service, we made sure that versions 1.1 through 4.5 were supported!

Although version 1.1 is no longer supported by Microsoft (no longer updated), we allow its use for the time being. However, as a precautionary measure, we highly suggest that you update your code, as a means to be up to date and avoid security breaches.

How To Gain Access To ASP .Net 4.5?

Those that already use .Net services on our servers will need to contact our support team to use the most recent version (4.5). In order to support 1.1 through 4.5, we had to configure our infrastructure in such a way that the 4.5 options could only be available on demand. However, any new ASP activation will be made the same way as before, but will be done under the 4.5 version immediately!

To use this Microsoft service, you must first make sure that you have a Developer’s Heaven or Optimal hosting plan, or a Multi-Resources reseller hosting plan. You can modify your plan at any time from your Customer Hub if you wish to take advantage of ASP, JSP, in addition to Git and SSH. ASP .Net has to be activated for every domain name as it is indicated here in our Knowledge Base.
