Did you know that Funio offered hybrid hosting plans? Indeed, our “Developer’s Heaven” and “Optimal” hosting plans, as well as our reseller hosting plan “Multi-Resources”, allow you to use Windows services on a Linux platform. You can program your site in ASP .Net, connect to a MS SQL database in addition to their exclusive access to use JavaServer Pages.
The first step in a list of updates consisted in setting up a Windows 2012 server that would support efficiently the service updates. Done! The second step was to put SQL Server 2012 in place. Done too! All that’s left is updating ASP .Net!
Microsoft SQL Server Update
Since October 22nd, all new MS SQL databases are configured on a brand new and highly efficient server. We have setup the most recent stable version of MS SQL, version 2012. This update allows us to offer you a more stable infrastructure, not to mention increased performance and security.
In order to obtain a MS SQL 2012 database, make sure that you have Developer’s Heaven or Optimal plan, or a Multi-Resources reseller hosting plan. You will have the option to order a MS SQL database from your Customer Hub in the Options section of your hosting plan.
ASP. Net Update
To top off the updates on our hybrid platform, we will update ASP .Net to the 4.5 version. This update will be made by the end of November 2013. Stay tuned with Funio news for more information!
