We have never hidden the fact that our Panelbox interface, which allows for easy and efficient web hosting management, is supported by cPanel. Last week, we have updated cPanel to its most recent stable version (11.38), primarily to take advantage of its new security features. This intervention was completed transparently, with no slow downs or service interruptions.<\/p>\n
We cannot stress this enough: risks of intrusion are always higher when software is not updated regularly. That goes without saying that keeping yourself up to date allows you to use new functionalities and new tools!<\/p>\n
cPanel now provides a security feature that prevents intrusion problems during active sessions, especially when a user exits the interface without clicking the “Disconnect” button. Specifically, a unique security token is added to the URL when you are connected to the control panel. This token allows the precise identification of your connection session and makes it unique. This token is not reusable, therefore an attempt to connect (either by yourself or a malevolent external source) with the same link will fail.<\/p>\n
In addition to this feature, cPanel improved SSL certificate management, allowing the support of multiple SSL certificates on the same account \/ IP. Also, the integration of UTF-8 encoding, allowing certificates to use native language format. In short, accents are now accepted characters!<\/p>\n
Our IT team is very satisfied of the general improvements, the performances of the application and the systems that surround it (Apache, WHM). They also appreciate the optimization of account transfer speeds, allowing them to make account backups and migrations faster than before.<\/p>\n
