A few months ago, Pascal Couturier, the founder and current CEO, decided to choose Funio as a service provider. Since then, our products have helped him offer robust solutions to his numerous clients:\u00a0dentists, tailors, jewelers, real estate brokers, etc. Pascal has also helped us develop our unique offer that we released a few weeks ago, the Panelbox Private Infrastructure<\/a>. Today, he gives us an interview where he shares his vision of entrepreneurship while offering a few tips to aspiring and current entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

When have you joined Funio as a client?<\/h3>\n

Chocolat M\u00e9dia chose Funio in november 2012. It was rather a rigorous process since there is a huge amount of service providers in the web hosting industry. Since we are a creative agency, we do offer website development services and we had specific needs to address, without being able to exactly list them in technical terms. We were looking for speed, reliability but our priority was custom service.<\/p>\n

What services did you purchase with Funio?<\/h3>\n

After our initiative to learn more about different providers, we were very interested by the Panelbox Private Infrastructure Solo offer. In our field of expertise, we are required to host several websites for our customers, but do not have the required infrastructures nor do we have the internal resources required to manage them. Funio’s offer was the perfect solution for us and did not require long hours to configure. We were able to to benefit from 8 processors, 16 Gb of RAM and 1800 Go of hard disk space in a few minutes. We use this platform for our clients and have also launched an e-commerce platform called Panierdachat.com<\/a>. This allowed us to grow our customer base without worrying about down times or a lack of resources.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us a bit more about Chocolat M\u00e9dia?<\/h3>\n

We are in business since 2001. We create custom websites for small and medium businesses (SMB) that want a unique online presence. Throughout the years, we have expanded our line of services and have added search engine optimization, search engine marketing as well as e-commerce services.<\/p>\n

How did you become an entrepreneur?<\/h3>\n

It was not planned. When I was younger, I was not able to find a job in my field. After searching for a period of time, I got a few contracts. One project lead to another, and the next thing I knew, I was becoming an entrepreneur. Being organized and planning a budget are key elements. Also, you shouldn’t be afraid of risking something. Finally, making key contacts does help, but it is not always easy to do.<\/p>\n

If you had a few tips to give to aspiring entrepreneurs, what would you tell them?<\/h3>\n

The best advice is to be well-prepared and avoid skipping key steps. Local and national organizations exist and are present to help young entrepreneurs. They can really help by making you understand what is going on behind-the-scenes of a company so that you can be ready when it’s your turn to launch your project.<\/p>\n

If you lack preparation, I just hope you like bread and peanut butter! \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

According to you, what makes Funio unique compared to its competitors?<\/h3>\n

I love customer service. It’s the first thing I am looking for. On the internet, there is an unlimited amount of web hosting providers. By browsing through them, you can even find packages as low as 1$ per month. The problem with them appears when a problem occurs with your services. It is essential to benefit from a quick, efficient and local service, since you have a lot to lose. I don’t think any company, no matter how small it is, can allow its website to be down for a few days or even a few hours.<\/p>\n

What are the strenghts of Funio?<\/h3>\n

Customer Service. Always polite, quick and clear in their explanations. I would also add the Customer Hub.<\/a> I just love when user interfaces are clear and easy to use. Having worked with numerous companies, including international leaders in the web hosting industry, it is the first time I see something as simple. Losing my time is something that never occurs! We can therefore focus on what we do best.<\/p>\n

I also love how proactive you guys are. The recent security updates simply demonstrate that your team is constantly improving to enhance our experience. I haven’t experienced a single month where you did not update something.<\/p>\n

Does the Funio Hub help you simplify your life, and how?<\/h3>\n

I simply stopped losing time. The Hub is fast, simple to use and “idiot proof”. We bought a few SSL certificates; with other providers, it was simply a nightmare. Funio makes the process simpler and we now have all our certificates with you guys.<\/p>\n
