This endorsement helps Canadian kids make healthier choices in their everyday lives and build healthy habits that will stay with them for a lifetime. Now, I know what you might be thinking: “How ironic is it that a bunch of geeks, that spend more hours in front of a computer screen than anyone else, are promoting healthy lifestyle”? Please, let us explain ourselves!<\/p>\n

What is Prescription\u00a0: Action\u00a0?<\/b><\/p>\n

The team we are supporting is composed of physicians with innovative ideas and hearts of gold. Straight out of the region of Edmundston in New-Brunswick, Prescription: Action was founded about a year ago. Despite their numerous hours of volunteer work and help in organizing activities which goals were to make their communities more active and promote healthy eating, we suspect this group is constituted mainly of lazy individuals with a hidden agenda. These doctors can sure count, and they performed simple math: a healthier population requires less healthcare, therefore they have less patients to attend to, which means more vacation! Jokes aside, this challenging project was instigated by devoted and admirable members of the community, aiming to build a better tomorrow.<\/p>\n

What is Funio’s Involvement?<\/b><\/p>\n

First and foremost, we consider that these people are examples for the rest of us, therefore that they deserve our admiration and support. In comparison, let us imagine a company where the average geek spends 12 hours of his day in front of a screen isn\u2019t the best example of a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Even though some of us do make noticeable efforts, such as the “24-seconds-walk” to the bathroom as our daily workout, or, under the effects of an unexplainable force, some take the risk of taking the “300 meters to the closest fast-food restaurant walk”. If the latter occurs, almost instantly the other members of the Funio team will notice the unusual choice and will stare in an incomprehensible silence, looking for a rational explanation behind this gigantic effort. Back at the office, the lunch has to compensate for the enormous number of calories spent getting the food: pizza, poutines and burgers are a no-brainer.<\/p>\n

Badmouths will pretend that supporting Prescription:Action is a way for us to stop feeling guilty about our eating habits. To be honest, it is simply a way for the Funio team to help raise awareness towards the benefits of healthy choices for our children and for ourselves.<\/p>\n

What is the grand d\u00e9fi Pierre Lavoie?<\/b><\/p>\n

The grand d\u00e9fi Pierre Lavoie is a renowned Canadian initiative that aims to motivate young people in adopting a healthier lifestyle by making beneficial choices. It also helps health awareness for parents that attempt to balance the every day with their children, by focusing on three key areas: physical activity, eating healthy and school perseverance.<\/p>\n

This upcoming weekend, an annual bike ride, which is part of the Pierre Lavoie challenge, will take place between Friday and Sunday. Pierre Lavoie himself and 1000 bikers will ride over 1000 km in the Province of Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n
