Nowadays, more and more platforms and sites are designed with Python and Ruby. These programming languages are the go-to choices for developers, startups and a lot of companies. Why? Because Python and Ruby offer two frameworks, respectively Django and Ruby on Rails, which are great solutions for developing web applications.<\/p>\n

For instance, sites such as Airbnb, Basecamp, Bloomberg, Fiverr, Kickstarter or Couchsurfing are created with Ruby on Rails. Instagram, The Onion or Pinterest are designed using Django.<\/p>\n

Ruby on Rails and Django provide what we call a MVC architectural pattern (Model-view-controller). It allows designing user interfaces swiftly and intuitively. This pattern separates the data model, the presentation of the information in the user interface and the logic control and management of the events. These two frameworks therefore offer an interesting alternative to PHP.<\/p>\n

How to use Python or Ruby with my hosting plan?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ruby and Python are available for all of the new Funio hosting plans (except the Economic Plan). We offer Ruby 1.8 through 2.1, and Python 2.7, 3.3 and 3.4.<\/p>\n

To use Ruby or Python with your hosting plan, it\u2019s easy. You just have to go to your cPanel and to add the applications. Select the version you wish to use, and happy coding!<\/p>\n
